Fire from Within

What would be the worst thing in human experiene? I can come up with several and add 6 billion other responses. But a thought of boredom struck my mind.
No, I'm not bored. I'm never bored. I don't know what boredom is because even when I don't do anything, my mind is always occupied.
But boredom is associated with lack of drive and that is my current focus. When you don't know what it is to not want anything at all, you won't understand how empty and hollow it feels. It's like you're dying. Slowly. The fire that you once had is withering away until it turns to white ashes, finishing their last glow.
I figure how important it is to have a drive. Any drive. Something that pushes you to live. It can be a drive to paint a picture or walk the dog, or read a book. But it's even better when you have a more expansive drive, pertaining to your purpose in life. You feel alive when you want to accomplish something.
Many don't realize the blessing of having that desire to do or be something. They are too consumed with the concerns about the process or complications or any other things. How many of you have sat down and recognized the fact that you actually want something? How many have been grateful just to have that burning sensation, the fire from within?
If you don't have it, seek it. Ask for it. It will be one of the most important things you've ever pursued.

  2. :-) I'm glad, M.V.
To answer your question, I need a separate post. Let me just say what it will be about - joy. Oh, and thanks for inspiring me to another post. Again. Haha

  3. Well said. Many people don't realize what they have until it's gone (hence the saying; one doesn't miss the water until the well runs dry). When one feels loss, they are more appreciative of the missing element when the missing thing comes, or returns.
You often have so many thoughts going on in your mind. Remember when we were at Borders, in Pittsburgh, and I told you to just sit there, not speaking, not reading; just being? Try that. It will be hard, but try it. You have to learn to just be. Not busying yourself to escape your thoughts. By continuing the same pattern of behavior that you've had in the past you're doing yourself a disservice. Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results is the definition of insanity; maybe that's why you feel tired because you're spinning the same wheel instead of getting off and trying something new.

  4. Look forward to reading it. You definitely have a different outlook than most people. A lot of people would answer with a career, family, or some other pursuit of that nature that we are constantly told will lead to joy. Joy itself as a pursuit is not a common answer and would make most people extremely uneasy because it doesn't equate to security.

Let me just say that striving for stability and security is like chasing your own shadow. Many years I've been engaging in such activities, only to learn, the hard way, that life guarantees nothing. Mental exhaustion brought me to a point of re-evaluation. Thus my answer. It's very recent and I'm at the beginning of that path. But I'm very happy that I'm at least on it :-)
Read my post about Joy for details if you'd like.

  6. Michanty.
I agree and that's why I'm adjusting to a new way of existence. I slip at times, as you can see, but as long as I stay on my way, nothing else matters. I'm choosing the way of higher frequencies :-)
